The capital of Land of the Rising Sun Tokyo is the biggest city in the world. Presently the city population stands for more than 44 million inhabitants. This city is also an official residence of the Japanese Emperor. Tokyo is situated in the region of Kanto region. It basically consists of Ogasawara Islands and Izu Islands. Factually, Tokyo metropolis originated in 1943.

Tokyo was initially well-known as a little village Edo, which means “sound”. In Edu always lived fishermen. In 1886 the city was announced to be the imperial capital, and since that time it got an official name Tokyo.

In 2009 the city was named the third Most Comfortable City and the Most Civilized Megalopolis. The Annual Michelin Report has granted Tokyo the most quantity of Michelin stars of any city on the planet.

In 2012, Tokyo was announced to be the most costly city in the world. Nowadays, Tokyo has the chief world`s urban economy. PricewaterhouseCoopers reported the Tokyo city area in 2012 had a GDP of 2.93 trillion dollars. 51 of the Global top-500 companies are housed here.
